Global infrastucture of independent national associations

It is the International Scooter Associations objective to recognise one dedicated national scooter governing body in each country. To form a global infrastucture of independent national associations, aligned in developing all aspects of scooter riding and legitimizing the sport.  Further details including our detailed application process and terms and conditions can be found below.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

THE PROCESS

We have developed an easy process for recognising associations.

STEP ONE (Intent): Register intent and complete the application form to get started.
STEP TWO (Consultation): The ISA and NGB will open dialogue and enter a consultation period. There is a one off non-refundable application fee.
STEP THREE (Legal): A formal process which includes signing of MOU agreements.
STEP FOUR (Official):
Anouncement and start working together

ASSOCIATION MEMBERS

  • Recognition as the National Governing Body (NGB)
  • Position on the ISA board (non-executive advisory position)
  • Access to support, guidance and members
  • Listed on the ISA website (association and director)
  • Involvement in international activity, campaigns, promotions and fundraisers
  • Invite to annual general meeting
  • Industry networking and support opportunities
  • Use of ISA members logo
  • Voting rights

Why the application fee?

The process takes up time and resources. The fee is a small contribution to the administation cost, communication and support throughout the process.

NGB CRITEIRA

Here are the basic guidelines the ISA will check for:

  • Must be a not-for-profit organization
  • No conflicts with any other ISA recognised association
  • Is a legitimate organization at national level
  • Has a board of directors
  • Can provide articles of association or company documention
  • Can provide a strategic plan for growth

THINKING OF SETTING UP AN ASSOCIATION?

Associations don’t just magicially appear. They are created because people want to work together on a common cause or interest. The ISA will provide a guide to help those considering setting up an association. Available Sept 2020.

The ISA offers 2 levels of membership:

FULL: A full member is recognised by the ISA as the national governing body for scooters in a country. Full voting rights and position on ISA board.
ASSOCIATE: An association seeking recognition as a national governing body but not yet meeting all requirements.
