ISA Interview with Sogo Sakakibara
SOGO SAKAIBARA PROFILE
Sogo Sakakibara made his name in Australia, where he was living as a Japanese exchange student. Having been given permission to compete in the Australasian Scooter Championships, Sogo was proving himself as one of the best riders in Australia. Sogo finished in the top 10 and was granted a wild card to the ISA world scooter championship 2015, where he’d represent Japan on the world stage. That year he placed 44th but made history competing for Japan and becoming a fan favourite. Sogo has attended the world championships every year since. His best year was in 2016 where he finished 13th in the world. Sogo is an inspiration to all riders worldwide and a perfect role model for the sport. He is an ambassador for the sport in Japan and big plans to push the sport across Asia.
